I have these stripes in my living room, two shades of green, running vertically. Lately, they’ve begun to seem like prison bars closing in on me. I like them, but I’m getting the itch to do something a little more modern, a little more colorful. Here are some of my inspirations, some are from Design*Sponge, the others from Oh Joy! (Joy was featured on “Secrets from a Stylist” with cutie patootie stylist Emily Henderson) and Oh Happy Day! All I know is the paint is a-callin’ my name.

How fab would the roadways be with stripes like these? Road rage would be a thing of the past. Obsolete, I tell you!

And this quilt, I LERVE. I think I’m having a thing with melon hues. The hubs did make a request to leave out pink, but does “salmon” count?

Here the green is sneaking back in–with a HEAVY dose of pink. Ruh-roh.

Ahhhh. This is a happy place to land. Greens, browns, MELONS, golds. Me likey. Hoping to see some stripes inspired by that pillow in my living room very, very soon. Just gotta convince the hubs. Stay tuned…
