Great way of looking at it--as a mother. Just makes me think that everything really does happen for a reason. Reminds me that all things work for good in the end.

"How life’s worst leave their mark, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing."

Love this reminder. So true. In the context of motherhood, I definitely see where the scars I carry from childhood will (hopefully) make me more understanding and aware of the challenges my children face as they get older. And anything that makes me a "shinier" mother can only be seen as a blessing, I suppose. Thanks for this.

Thank you for the article about Mel. I am actually hoping to team up with him and do another Jesus film, (With a twist) any ideas on contacting him? All the proceeds would go to feed starving kids! But wouldn't it be wonderful if the whole movie were filled with broken people who need a savior?

From one insomniac to another (2:51 AM), I kind of love this. I love a good redemptive story, especially when things come full circle and overlap in that beautifully eery sort of way. I also love Robert Downey, Jr.--though not as much as Mr. Darcy ;)--and this made me remember once agian how a man (any man) with deep-reaching sins can emerge as a person full of character and sincere gratitude for their life and their family, perhaps much more than those who have walked the cleaner path. I saw it up close with my own father and am always quick to hope for it again.

Thanks for sharing this story, K. I'm actually more heavy-eyed than teary now, and who wants to scrub a bathtub at 3 AM?! so am going to give the sleeping thing another shot. xo

Oh my, that is an uncanny resemblance, now that you mention it.
We will always be a bit restless here... if we're not, then something's wrong, I think.
